Absolutely horrible, we were on the 25th floor and all you could smell was POT it was down in the lobby and on the 2nd floor every thing is way over priced and the service was mediocre at best, my family and I will never stay at this hotel again

Good place for attending the festival grounds

We went to a show at the Las Vegas festival grounds and circus circus was the perfect place to stay. The festival was less than a block away. The hotel and casino are older, but clean. We didn't spend much time in our room but it definitely did the job of giving us a place to sleep and shower. Circus circus is not fancy, but it's good.

I visited the casino only, so I wouldnt know about the hotel itself. It was a very depressing experience. Old carpets wall to wall, smelling of carpet cleaner and mold. If I had in fact booked this hotel, I would leave and find me somewhere else to stay.

Unfortunately, the majority of people that stay/visit Circus Circus smoke cigarettes and the place absolutely stinks! Furthermore, it is ancient, run down and other than the low price and pool/amusement park for kids I cannot recommend it.

Beware before booking: Elevator issues & dirty rooms

I recently stayed at Circus Circus and I can honestly say it was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. They say "you get what you pay for", and I was expecting the rooms and hotel to be run down and old. I was not expecting the room to be filthy - which it was. There was gum stuck to the mirror, a gold fish cracker in the air conditioning unit, and old candy left behind on the nightstand. Clearly the room was not cleaned. I feel it is a miracle we did not get bed bugs given how gross the room was. However, that was not the worst ... the hotel is in the midst of upgrading their elevators and had 3 working elevators for around 20 floors and hundreds (if not thousands) of guests. I understand that upgrades are necessary -- but if you can not accommodate the same number of guests, then limit the reservations! Nope ... with no warning at all from the hotel ahead of time, we were totally unsuspecting of the fact that we would be trapped every time we wanted to leave or go back to our room. Every time we wanted to get in or out it was b/w 20-30 minutes! At one point, I was trapped on my floor for 35 minutes. I asked if I could take stairs and was told there was no option- only in case of a fire and it would sound the alarm (!!!). At another point, I was given a late check out (given the elevator issue we literally could not get back to the room in time) and then the card was deactivated (we were never told to reactivate it) and we were standing outside our room in wet bathing suits for 25 minutes before someone could come help us. I left my "vacation" with raised blood pressure and feeling like this hotel needs to be shut down. Please ,do yourself a favor -- if you are looking for a more cost effective option, just stay off the strip. Trust me -- avoid this hotel. It's not worth it!!
